Visionarium Live Italian – South Pasadena, CA
Visionarium Live Italian is a unique Italian-inspired concept space in the heart of South Pasadena, bringing together authentic Italian food, wine, culture, hospitality, and live events.
We are currently looking for friendly, reliable, and motivated servers to join our team. We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, a strong sense of responsibility, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and welcoming environment.
For us, personality and the ability to connect with people are essential. We are not simply looking for a highly formal or traditional server. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking with guests, getting to know them, remembering them, and making them feel at home.
At Visionarium, we want our servers to become a familiar and trusted point of reference for our guests — someone they are happy to see when they return, someone they feel comfortable talking to, and someone who can build a genuine sense of friendship, familiarity, and connection over time.
The ideal candidate is naturally open, warm, engaging, and comfortable interacting with different personalities. Creating this special relationship with our guests is a fundamental part of the position and of the Visionarium experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in a warm, professional, and welcoming environment.
- Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and serve efficiently.
- Engage naturally with guests, build personal relationships, and help create the feeling of being welcomed back among friends.
- Recognize and remember returning guests whenever possible, their preferences, and what they enjoy about Visionarium.
- Serve wine, beer, and alcoholic beverages responsibly.
- Present and promote menu items, wines, wine flights, selected products, and special events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Work closely with the team during brunch, private events, live music nights, and high-volume service periods.
- Help create a positive and memorable experience for every guest.
Requirements
- Previous server/waitstaff experience preferred.
- Food Handler Card required.
- Alcohol Server Certification required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Outgoing, personable, and genuinely comfortable talking and building relationships with guests.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Passion for food, wine, events, and hospitality is a plus.
Schedule / Availability
Visionarium Live Italian is open during the following hours:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday – Thursday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Friday: 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Candidates must be available to work weekday evening shifts, Saturdays during the morning, afternoon, and evening, and Sundays until 5:00 PM.
Weekend availability is especially important, including brunch, special events, private events, and live music nights.
Minimum availability of 3 shifts per week is required. Each shift is a minimum of 5 hours.
Compensation & Opportunities
We offer a dynamic work environment, competitive pay, tips, and the opportunity to earn additional bonuses and incentives based on agreed-upon goals.
Incentives may include bonuses for sales of selected products, wine flights, bottles, special promotions, as well as bonuses for events created, promoted, or brought to Visionarium by the employee, according to criteria established by management and company policy.
