Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and construction environments using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
- Perform electrical diagnostics to identify issues with electrical systems, including low voltage and high-voltage wiring.
- Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes for safety and compliance.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control systems to troubleshoot automation equipment.
- Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely while following electrical safety procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams during renovation or new construction projects, including frame carpentry and general handyman tasks as needed.
Skills
- Extensive experience with industrial electrician tasks, including working with electrical systems in manufacturing or large facilities.
- Proven commercial electrician experience with a strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and schematics for various electrical systems accurately.
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical wiring practices for safe installation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards for all electrical work performed.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, power drills, conduit benders, and other construction site equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of low voltage systems such as security alarms or communication wiring.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and control diagrams for automation or process control systems.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes to ensure all work is compliant with jurisdictional requirements.
