Position Overview: You will play a vital role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout all phases of litigation. Responsibilities include case management, drafting and preparing legal documents for eFiling and service, maintaining client records, and assisting with trial preparation and trial support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to helping clients during their time of need.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist attorneys with case preparation, drafting legal documents including pleadings and discovery, and service of documents.
*Calendaring all deadlines, hearings, depositions, and other case-related dates.
*Prepare, organize, and file legal documents in accordance with court deadlines and requirements.
*Manage client communications, including scheduling consultations, and calendaring.
*Maintain case files and ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
*Coordinate with medical providers, and other third parties involved in personal injury cases.
*Support attorneys during hearings, depositions, and trials as needed.
*Assist with the preparation of trial documents, exhibits and binders.
*Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses throughout litigation and trial.
Qualifications:
* Minimum five years of litigation experience as a paralegal with direct trial experience, preferably in personal injury.
*Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure and local rules.
*High school diploma required and/or Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience.
*Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis).
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to manage multiple cases, work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Salary is commensurate with experience and ranges from $70,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
