Job Duties
- Ability to diagnose vehicle condition by performing inspections and diagnostic testing.
- Perform preventative maintenance that adheres to our strict schedule.
- Corrects deficiencies by adjusting and/or replacing defective parts that are part of the drive train, electrical, air conditioning, fuel emission, brakes, steering, engine, etc.
- Knowledge in warranty procedures by evaluating issues that arise within the truck and equipment.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing replacement orders, and receiving and verifying against receipt.
- Updates technician job knowledge by becoming involved in education opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications and performing online training.
- Taking charge of the shop in making sure that It is a safe and clean environment.
- Ability to learn new operating software for the tucks as well as for data entry for the RO’s, warranty claims, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Management, Terminal Manager, Drivers and Vendors.
Skills and Qualifications
- On job experience and/or technical certificate/degree from an accredited school.
- Owns tools that would be necessary in performing work that is required.
- Ability to operate the following, but not limited to Cummins Insite, Davie 4, Bendix ACOM, ESA, Service Ranger 4, etc.
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test and background check.
- 1 year experience with CMV truck and trailer repair.
- Able to lift 75 lbs
- Must be self-motivated
