IT Support Technician (Hardware)
Location: Columbus, OH
Reporting to: Head of Operations
Working Hours: 8am - 4.30pm, this is a full time, on site role, with occasional out of hours support to keep things moving when it counts
We're scaling our US operations, and we're looking for our first dedicated IT Support Technician to support our existing Columbus site and our brand new fulfilment center as we grow. You'll take ownership of debugging hardware issues - computers, printers, scanners, and more- across our Columbus fulfilment centers and office environments, keeping equipment running at a high standard as our team scales fast around you.

What you'll be doing...

Keep the hardware running - troubleshoot computers, printers, scanners, and warehouse equipment across our office and fulfilment center environments, keeping everything running at its best

Own equipment from purchase to retirement - source and order new hardware, manage vendor relationships, track inventory, and maintain an accurate asset register

Set the team up for success - provision laptops and equipment for new starters, and manage a clean, secure offboarding process for leavers

Run our Google Workspace - manage user accounts, permissions, and day to day admin across the US sites

Be the go-to person on-site - act as the main point of contact for tech issues, liaising with our Operations team and external partners for network, wireless, and cabling support

Spot patterns, not just fix problems - monitor recurring issues and system logs, feeding insights back to improve how we operate

Keep the lights on during change - plan and communicate around system maintenance and updates, minimizing disruption to the wider business

Help shape how we scale - bring ideas and improvements to the table as we build out our US IT function
What you'll bring...
-
Previous experience in IT and technical troubleshooting and configuration - ideally in a fulfilment center / warehouse or operational environment

Competence in systems performance analysis

Have provided ad-hoc out-of-hours cover when needed to support business

Ability to perform basic networking and troubleshooting - in particular WiFi access points and switches

Experience in deploying / managing device protection

Able to communicate technically, understanding of TCP / IP, subnetting, firewalls etc

Have used ticketing systems for support (e.g. Asana)

Comfortable providing hardware support on laptops, printers, monitors and peripherals

Ideally have previous experience in Google Workspace, managing user accounts, permissions etc
Work Environment
You'll work across office and warehouse environments, using a computer and keyboard as well as warehouse hardware such as barcode scanners, printers and network equipment. The role involves light physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting of equipment. Constant exposure to conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery / equipment.
