Part Time Site Director
General Duties
1. Provide a nurturing environment for the supervision of one or more groups of children.
2. Ensure that the site is set up at least 10 minutes before the children arrive each day.
3. Ensure that a staff member remains at the child care site until the last child is gone and site has been put in order according to the expectation for the space as defined by the building Principal.
Activities Program:
1. Plan and conduct daily activities for the children in the program that contribute to the care, growth and development of the children who attend the program. Maintain a daily activities plan book.
2. Prepare materials required to implement the daily activity plans.
3. Manage the distribution and collection of games and supplies used in activities.
4. Coordinate with Program Administrator to schedule resource people who will provide special programs.
Administrative:
1. Keep daily attendance and afternoon child release records.
2. In the case of staff absence, find substitute personnel as needed to replace staff. Provide a schedule of the day’s activities for reference of the sub.
3. Schedule assignments of program group leaders, aides and volunteer personnel.
4. Supervise service and record daily afternoon snack.
5. Confirm children’s enrollment to the program. Maintain current waiting list of children waiting for enrollment, if needed.
6. Keep current, orderly and complete files of required child/staff records according to the licensing specification for information and location of records.
7. Submit necessary and/or recommended supplies and equipment for the program.
Communication:
1. Communicate regularly with the Program Administrator, Director of SCPR and the building Principal to discuss issues regarding the program.
2. Plan and attend Staff meetings and prepare reports for Program Administrator.
Supervisory:
1. Supervise Recreation Leaders and Recreation Aides who are assigned to assist with activities.
2. Participate in the evaluation of staff supervised.
Health & Safety:
1. Be present at the site during at least 50% of the program hours, or more as required to maintain appropriate child/staff ratio, except in the case of an emergency.
2. Follow vendor approved standards and school procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children on the program, which include but are not limited to hand washing, sanitary measures, playground safety rules, rules regarding the use of supplies and equipment.
3. Become knowledgeable of the emergency file and emergency procedures. Plan, implement and supervise a schedule of required fire drills.
4. Hold current certificates in CPR and first aid.
Professional:
Attend required 16 hours of professional growth annually.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma required; additional education is highly desired.
2. Site Director shall be at least 21 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent and have previous programmatic experience in a child-related field.
