American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT(T) certification and 2+ years of experience for a hospital radiation oncology department utilizing Varian TrueBeam and ARIA systems.

Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department

Adult and geriatric patient population

Daily caseload of 30-40 patients
-
Administers treatments using Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator

Utilizes ARIA documentation system, with EPIC experience preferred
-
Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)

13-week assignment with potential to extend
-
On-call required for some areas such as OT, IR, and Cath Lab within 30 miles/30 minutes of campus
-
Floating may be required in rotation with client staff per facility policy

Active VA state license required, or license from another state with proof of VA application (temporary VA license process allowed)

License required if applicable

Current BLS certification

ARRT(T) certification required

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist

Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging
-
Experience with IMRT and Electron Beam Therapy dosimetry systems
-
Specialty treatment experience including Electron Field, Respiratory Gating/Breath Hold for Left Breast, Heterotopic Bone, Superior Vena Cava, Gynecomastia, and Prophylactic Treatments

Experience with Keloids and Prostate Cancer with Seeds/Fiducials
-
Experience with Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator

Experience with ARIA documentation system; EPIC experience preferred

Administer radiation therapy treatments on Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator

Facility is smoke/nicotine free
-
Any scrub color accepted
-
Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1-Mar 31), with exemptions subject to CMS guideline compliance
-
COVID vaccination or qualified exemption required
-
Minimal RTO preferred, with no requests for a full calendar week off during the assignment
-
Expect to work some holidays, with RTO approved at manager discretion

Open to first-time travelers

Previous VHC staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler

All travelers must attend an EPIC class (accelerated or 2-day) unless returning within the past 6 months
-
Up to 7 non-billable orientation module hours required, varying by specialty
