The Freezer Order Picker operates manual and powered material-handling equipment, including rider reach trucks, forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and scan gun systems, to safely move, store, retrieve, and replenish products within the freezer.
Position Clarification:
This is a hands-on freezer, warehouse, and inventory position

Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inventory
Receive and inventory incoming frozen products
- Verify incoming products and quantities against applicable documentation
- Ensure products are properly identified and placed in the appropriate freezer storage locations
- Organize, rotate, maintain, and verify existing inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory information using established systems and procedures
- Assist with monthly physical inventory counts
- Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies to department leadership
- Notify department leadership when inventory levels are low, counts are incorrect, products are damaged, or other inventory concerns are identified
Order Picking & Packing
Accurately pick and pack orders according to the established schedule of releases
- Verify products, quantities, labels, and applicable documentation before orders are released for shipment
- Ensure picked orders are accurate and complete before they leave the freezer
- Stage products appropriately for shipment or internal movement
- Read and accurately interpret product labels, pick information, and associated documentation
- Communicate shortages, discrepancies, damaged products, or other order-related concerns to department leadership
Product Storage & Replenishment
Replenish product in designated freezer locations as necessary
- Safely retrieve products from freezer racking using appropriate material-handling equipment
- Organize products within established racking systems to maximize available storage space
- Maintain proper product rotation according to company procedures
- Ensure products are stored safely, securely, and in their designated locations
- Assist with relocating and reorganizing inventory as operational needs require
Equipment Operation & Material Handling
Safely operate manual and ride-on pallet jacks
- Safely operate forklifts and rider reach trucks to retrieve, store, move, and replenish products
- Use scan gun systems and other applicable inventory equipment accurately
- Follow all established equipment safety procedures and operating requirements
- Conduct required equipment checks and report equipment concerns or unsafe conditions to
department leadership
- Operate material-handling equipment carefully around freezer racking, products, employees, and other equipment
- Use approved tools and equipment, including box cutters and knives, in accordance with company safety procedures
Safety, Sanitation & Organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized freezer and work environment
- Keep aisles, walkways, staging areas, and storage locations clear and properly organized
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in below-freezing conditions
- Wear and properly maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Follow established sanitation, food safety, and product-handling requirements
- Immediately report damaged products, unsafe conditions, spills, equipment concerns, or other potential hazards to department leadership
- Maintain proper housekeeping throughout the workday
Additional Duties:
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and inventory reconciliation activities
- Assist other freezer, inventory, warehouse, and shipping personnel as operational needs require
- Support product receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, and staging activities
- Assist with maintaining and improving freezer organization and efficient use of storage space

Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, freezer, distribution, or similar environment preferred
- Experience operating ride-on pallet jacks and forklifts
- Experience operating a rider reach truck
- Experience working with warehouse racking systems and maximizing available storage space
- Experience with inventory management and order picking preferred
- Experience using scan guns or similar warehouse inventory systems preferred
- Ability to read and understand product labels and associated documentation
- Ability to safely operate required material-handling equipment
- Ability to work effectively in temperatures below 32°F for the duration of the workday
- Ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends when operationally required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and handle approximately 30–50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of a workday of up to 10 hours
- Regular use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
