Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning by offering creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, ovens, stoves, and refrigeration units
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food with precision
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction while managing multiple orders during busy hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven culinary experience in a restaurant or food industry setting with strong knife skills
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Familiarity with catering services and serving techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members
Pay: $12.50 - $16.00 per hour
