Easterseals Eastern PA is currently seeking Part Time Community Based Direct Support Professionals. Join our team of professionals who make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing the support they need to access volunteer, social, and recreational activities in the community.
Exact hours and duties vary depending on person supported. Opportunities available throughout the Lehigh Valley.
The Community Support Specialist will:
- Develop and implement activities that address vocational, volunteer, social, and independent living skills in the community
- Provide assistance and instruction to individuals so that they may participate fully in all scheduled activities
- Provide transportation in their personal vehicle in the community for the individuals they serve.
- Communicate positively and effectively with individuals, families, supervisors, volunteers and community organizations
- Execute all required written documentation including daily Direct Service forms and progress reports

The Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The candidate must be willing to travel to different locations in the area.
- Valid Driver’s License with daily access to a reliable privately maintained and insured vehicle.
- At least 18 years of age
- Good computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and electronic
- Successful completion of required trainings within specified time frames
- Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks
