Tech Lead / Production Technician (Part-Time)
Wisteria Theater is seeking a skilled and creative Tech Lead / Production Technician to support live performances, rentals, and events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative theater environment and enjoys both the technical and creative sides of production.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and program QLab for live performances
- Manage and troubleshoot Dante audio systems
- Design and execute lighting, sound, and atmospheric effects (including fog and haze systems) for theatrical productions and events
- Run live sound for performances, concerts, and rentals
- Assist with set-up, strike, and technical installations
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and creative teams
- Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live events
- Maintain and organize technical equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in theatrical lighting and sound design
- Hands-on experience with QLab
- Familiarity with or experience using Dante audio systems
- Strong understanding of live event or theatrical sound operation
- Ability to problem-solve quickly in live performance environments
- Team-oriented, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Live sound experience (concerts, events, or theater)
- Experience with small venue or indie theater production
- Skills in additional production areas (video, projections, scenic, etc.)
- Interest in immersive or experimental theater
About the Role:
This is a part-time, flexible position with hours that vary depending on rehearsals, performances, and events. Typical weekly hours range from approximately 10–25 hours, with additional hours during production weeks and show runs.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
