Duties
- Verification for surgical benefits
-Obtain office referrals, and authorizations
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care
- Perform administrative tasks to support the medical office or hospital
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring
- Assist with patient education and provide information on medications and procedures
- Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
- Ability to provide excellent patient service with compassion and empathy
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks, including scheduling, record keeping, and billing/coding
- Experience with X-ray procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
- Ability to perform accurate vital sign measurements and medication administration
