Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to assist individuals in need, providing essential support in various settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those with developmental disabilities, seniors, and individuals requiring specialized care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients in daily activities, including personal care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Monitor and document patient behaviors, ensuring accurate record-keeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:
- Must Pass Level 2 background screening and Local background screening
- Experience or working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Patient observation and monitoring techniques
- Assisted living home experience, particularly in dementia or Alzheimer’s care
- Home & community care experience
- Knowledge of caregiving practices, including patient care, cleaning, cooking, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with direct support roles involving individuals with autism or other disabilities
