PURPOSE
The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead and scale ShipStation Global’s recruiting function from our Dallas headquarters, driving hiring strategy and execution across all regions. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for building a world-class, data-driven talent acquisition engine that supports aggressive growth.
You will oversee hiring across Sales, Customer Success, G&A, and advanced Software Engineering teams, while elevating our employer brand and building strong early-career pipelines. This leader must balance strategy and execution, operating as both an architect of scalable systems and a hands-on driver of critical hiring outcome. Directs the organization's recruitment function and establishes and implements policies for recruiting, screening, and interviewing individuals to fill organizational roles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Talent Acquisition Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute a comprehensive global recruiting strategy aligned to company growth objectives across 9 countries.
- Partner with executive leadership to shape workforce planning, hiring priorities, and capacity models.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment across critical functions, including:
- Revenue-generating roles (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success)
- Cutting-edge Software Engineering (platform, AI/BI, data, DevOps)
- Build a scalable, high-performing recruiting organization, including in-house teams and external partners.
- Drive consistency, efficiency, and excellence across all recruiting processes and candidate touchpoints
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global TA team of recruiters
- Foster a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, development, and performance management to ensure long-term team success.
- Design and scale robust college recruiting and early career programs globally.
- Build partnerships with top universities and technical institutions.
- Develop structured internship, co-op, and graduate hiring programs aligned to future workforce needs.
- Create strong onboarding and development experiences for early-career hires.
- Develop annual hiring projections and recruitment operating budget based on organizational recruitment plans. Monitor and ensure operations are managed within established guidelines.
- Develop departmental policies, practices and procedures to support recruiting effort. Ensure programs are in compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines.
International Recruiting & Compliance
- Develop localized recruiting strategies tailored to regional talent markets.
- Ensure compliance with global, federal, and state employment laws and hiring practices.
- Optimize global hiring mix (remote, hybrid, in-country) while supporting business expansion.
- Partner with regional leaders to align hiring practices with market dynamics and business needs
Employer Brand & Talent Marketing
- Lead the global employer branding strategy in partnership with Marketing and People teams.
- Position ShipStation Global as an employer of choice across both technical and commercial talent markets.
- Leverage digital platforms, social media, events, and storytelling to attract top talent.
- Measure brand effectiveness through candidate engagement and pipeline quality metrics.
Data, Analytics & Operational Excellence
- Design and implement key metrics that evaluate all talent acquisition programs and initiatives across the organization and recommend/implement solutions where appropriate.
- Leverage data to drive strategic decisions and continuous process improvement.
- Own and optimize the TA technology stack (ATS, CRM, sourcing tools).
- Develop scalable reporting, forecasting, and workforce planning models.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leader Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and hiring leaders.
- Lead hiring calibration, interview design, and offer strategy processes.
- Provide regular reporting and insights into leadership on hiring performance and risks.
- Maintain strong external partnerships with agencies, associations, and academic institutions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with employment agencies, external recruiters, professional associations, or other organizations that can ensure a continuous pipeline of employment candidates.
- Drive ongoing merger integration efforts, procedure development and ATS implementation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Deep expertise in global talent markets, recruiting operations, and labor law compliance.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align hiring strategies to revenue and growth goals.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Executive presence, strong communicator with the ability to influence and partner at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, build and scale high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with Social Recruiting , ATS platforms, CRM tools, and modern sourcing strategies.
- Recruitment practices and trends.
- Employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels (EEO, Wage and Hour).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or related field preferred
- 7+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven Track record leading recruiting across multiple regions/countries.
- Experience supporting high-volume, sales-driven organizations and modern technology and software Engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success building employer brand strategies and talent pipelines.
- Experience developing and scaling successful university recruiting and early career programs.
- Preferred experience with scaling talent acquisition in high-growth or pre-IPO environments.
