Position Summary
The Workforce Development Coordinator - Farm is responsible for the daily implementation of workforce development programming for individuals with autism at REED’s farm job site, Greens Do Good. This role focuses on supporting participant skill development, delivering vocational training in the field of agriculture. The Coordinator reports directly to the Workforce Development Manager and collaborates with farm leadership to provide a safe, inclusive, and meaningful work-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Development Program Implementation
- Deliver workforce development programming at REED’s farm job site, Greens Do Good.
- Provide hands-on training and supervision to participants, ensuring daily activities align with program goals and individual learning needs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment that fosters participant independence and dignity.
- Assist the Workforce Development Manager in daily program operations and scheduling.
Participant Support & Training
- Supervise groups daily, ensuring all program activities are set up and broken down before and after each group.
- Assign tasks to each student based on their progress, utilizing the established curriculum.
- Evaluate participant progress using the GDG Workforce Development curriculum and scoring rubric, accurately recording scores and notes into each student's file.
- Facilitate participant onboarding and ensure smooth daily transitions.
Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect and track participant performance data, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
- Maintain organized documentation for all participant evaluations and incidents in accordance with program policies.
- Prepare detailed participant reports for managerial review, ensuring full alignment with internal and DVRS documentation standards.
- Provide administrative support to the Workforce Development Manager in the finalization and submission of reports, as required.
Communication
- Report accidents and behavioral incidents to the Workforce Development Manager.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for school coordinators regarding program logistics and scheduling.
- Provide coverage for communications with DVRS counselors and supervisors as needed in the Workforce Development Manager’s absence.
Farm Support
- Provide operational support to the Farm Manager as required, including the supervision of neurodiverse staff, volunteers, and interns; assistance with agricultural tasks; and serving as a secondary point of contact for farm operations in the manager's absence.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Operates primarily on a day-based schedule, with flexibility required to accommodate program needs and site activities.
- Maintains a consistent on-site presence during operational hours (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM), unless otherwise directed by management.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years minimum experience in workforce development, transition services, vocational programming, or disability services.
- 1 year minimum experience in agriculture or agricultural education, with a passion for fostering the next generation of farmers.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams while adapting to evolving operational needs.
- Commitment to REED’s mission, with a dedicated passion for supporting individuals with autism.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data collection, reporting, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Reports to:
- Workforce Development Manager
Pay: $39,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
