Job description
We are seeking a RN or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to work in our outpatient clinic M-F from 8-5. The position is salaried and not hourly with a full benefits package. You will work under the supervision of a psychiatrist, CRNP, and PA. The ideal candidate will be experienced mental health. The nurse will work on a team to provide community based mental health care. The position requires home visits and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Record a patient’s medication history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Administer injections and draw blood work for lab test
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions
- Help patient apply for pharmaceutical assistance medication
Skills
- Proven experience as either a RN or LPN
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- Good driving record and working vehicle
- Alabama RN or LPN license required
Requirements:
Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 20-30 pounds regularly and assist with heavier lifts as needed.
Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during shifts.
Bending and Reaching: Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching to assist with patient care and handle equipment.
Manual Dexterity: Capable of using hands and fingers for tasks such as administering medications, taking vital signs, and providing patient care.
Physical Stamina: Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks and remain on feet for long durations.
Work Environment: Must be able to work in environments that may require physical activity, including hospitals, clinics, or long-term care facilities.
Good Driving Record: Reliable transportation and a good driving record.
Starting salary range is posted as hourly but will be hired at an equivalent salary in the same range. Salary will be determined by education level and experience.
