Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible PRN Dental Assistant to support multiple dental clinic locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with proficiency in chairside support, patient care, and administrative tasks. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique in accordance with infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) system (Curve), ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment notes, and medical coding.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures as needed for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques and 3D scanner operation.
- Familiarity with general dentistry practices and the specific steps in general dentistry procedures.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various procedures across general dentistry disciplines including prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Expertise in infection control practices, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile environment in the clinic setting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients, team members, and external providers.
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of medical records management and medical coding is highly desirable.
