Are you an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about autism, ADHD, sensory regulation, and helping neurodivergent individuals function more successfully in everyday life?
Kansas City Psychology is expanding our multidisciplinary services and is seeking an innovative Occupational Therapist (OT) to help develop a specialty occupational therapy program focused on neurodivergent adolescents and adults.
This is not a traditional hospital, skilled nursing, or school-based OT position. Our goal is to create an outpatient OT service that works alongside psychological assessment and mental health services to address the real-world challenges frequently experienced by autistic and ADHD individuals.
The ideal OT will have an interest in sensory regulation, executive functioning, adaptive functioning, emotional regulation, and independent living skills and will enjoy having the autonomy to help shape a growing program.
What You'll Do
As part of our team, you will:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations for adolescents and adults with autism, ADHD, sensory differences, and related concerns.
- Assess sensory processing and sensory regulation needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that translate assessment findings into practical, meaningful goals.
- Provide interventions targeting sensory regulation and sensory coping strategies.
- Address executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, initiation, time management, and task completion.
- Support development of daily living, adaptive, and independent living skills.
- Help clients develop strategies for managing overstimulation, transitions, routines, and environmental demands.
- Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, families, and other professionals when appropriate.
- Provide education and practical strategies that clients can use at home, school, college, work, and in the community.
- Maintain timely clinical documentation and treatment plans.
- Help shape and grow Kansas City Psychology's occupational therapy services.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an OT who is curious, creative, collaborative, and interested in developing expertise within a growing specialty practice.
Experience with autism, ADHD, sensory processing, or neurodivergent populations is strongly preferred. However, we also welcome Occupational Therapists who have a strong interest in this specialty and want to develop their skills in this area.
Candidates should have:
- Master's or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Occupational Therapist licensure or eligibility for licensure in Missouri.
- NBCOT certification as applicable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Interest in neurodiversity-affirming and individualized care.
- Interest in working with adolescents and adults.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $85,000–$105,000 annually, depending on experience, specialty training, and qualifications.
This is a W-2 employee position.
