What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Support Project Managers and Estimators in the planning, budgeting, and execution of electrical construction projects.
- Locate, acquire, organize, and distribute project plans, specifications, and related documentation.
- Prepare project correspondence, proposals, reports, and customer communications.
- Attend job walks, project meetings, and site visits as assigned.
- Assist with CAD drawings and project documentation updates.
- Support Project Managers with project scheduling and tracking using Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
- Maintain accurate project records, logs, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and field personnel to support project execution.
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- Receive and communicate project information that may require detailed explanation and follow-up.
- Help administer and coordinate project processes that support multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Escalate complex operational issues to senior team members or management as needed.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Possesses strong knowledge of the electrical construction industry and project coordination processes.
- Demonstrates professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Has experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, submittals, and technical project documentation.
- Is highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Has experience working with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and construction management software.
- Is developing project management, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment.
- Effectively manages multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in project coordination, project engineering, administration, or related support roles within the electrical construction industry required.
- Experience supporting electrical construction projects, including document control, project tracking, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, and project communication.
- Associate's degree, high school diploma, or equivalent required.
- Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Spectrum, Procore, or similar construction software preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting while reviewing project plans, technical documents, and reports and using computer-based software.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment and project management software.
- Visual acuity necessary for reviewing detailed technical drawings, blueprints, electrical plans, and schematics.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when transporting project materials, tools, or documents.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend during jobsite visits and project inspections.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to weather, construction activity, noise, and dust.
- Ability to operate basic field inspection tools and safety equipment during site evaluations.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
