MedNOW Clinics is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist to join our growing healthcare team.
As one of the first people our patients interact with, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience. You will support daily clinic operations by checking patients in and out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, collecting payments, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
The ideal candidate has previous medical-office experience, understands health insurance and patient registration, and can remain professional and organized in a busy environment.

Welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.

Confirm and update patient demographics, contact information, insurance coverage, and required forms.

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments.

Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient payments.

Provide receipts and accurately document payments in the appropriate system.

Answer incoming calls, respond to routine questions, route messages, and manage voicemails.

Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.

Review upcoming schedules and prepare required paperwork for the following business day.

Obtain completed registration forms, identification, insurance cards, and required signatures.

Scan and upload documents into the electronic health record.

Communicate patient arrivals, delays, and scheduling concerns to the clinical team.

Help patients understand office procedures, appointment requirements, and payment expectations.

Maintain an organized reception area and protect patient confidentiality.

Follow HIPAA, safety, cash-handling, and organizational policies.

Support other administrative and clinic duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least one year of medical front desk, medical reception, or related healthcare-office experience.

Working knowledge of health insurance plans, eligibility verification, copays, deductibles, and patient balances.

Experience answering multi-line phones and scheduling appointments.

Strong customer-service and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to enter information accurately.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare environment.

Professional judgment when handling confidential patient information.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Basic proficiency with computers, email, and electronic records.

Experience using Athenahealth or another electronic health record system.

Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, and payment collection.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience working in primary care, urgent care, or a multispecialty medical practice.

Bilingual English and Spanish skills, depending on clinic needs.

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, along with regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and movement throughout the clinic. The employee must be able to communicate effectively in person and by telephone and may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
