We are a small nature-based childcare center, and our philosophy is that kids learn and develop best when given natural ways to learn centered around the things they’re actively curious about in the moment as they play. We do not have our kiddos sit and do worksheets in the preschool room, but rather, we teach crucial developmental lessons organically. We get outdoors every chance we get, and love checking out the nature around us.
Duties
- Work Monday-Friday 8-5 (with a 1 hour break)

- Manage classroom activities with effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation.
- Conduct assessments to monitor each child's progress, when deemed necessary/desired.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers through regular communication about developmental milestones, classroom activities, and individual needs through the Brightwheel app— including uploading photos and video clips throughout the day for the parents
- Integrate special education practices to support children with diverse learning needs or developmental delays.
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities for preschoolers focusing on childcare essentials such as potty training, safety routines, and basic self-care skills.
- Look for naturally occurring moments that can be turned into lessons in literacy, math, physical education, and other core subjects while avoiding the label of “lesson” and rather focus on fostering a love for learning (and above all, asking questions!)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and incident reports to ensure compliance with childcare standards.
- Uphold child welfare policies by providing a safe, nurturing environment that promotes emotional security and physical health.
- Be willing to close some nights of the week (entails staying between 5-15 minutes after close to check and then lock the center up!)
