Job Title: Regular Part-Time Transportation Aide/ Clinics Department
Location: Allentown (Operated by County of Lehigh)
Compensation:

Base Pay: $17.73/hour

Monday- Friday (must work 24 hour/week)

Must be PA C.N.A Certified
This job class transports residents and delivers items in a county nursing facility. A position in this class transports residents to medical appointments and therapy, delivers resident charts and other paperwork, and maintains equipment in clean order. Work includes significant contact with residents.
TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Picks up residents from residential units; makes resident appointments or notifies personnel of residents unable to keep scheduled appointments.

transports with wheelchairs or litters; supports and/or assists those with walkers or who are otherwise ambulatory.

accompanies residents to site for medical appointments or therapy or other activities.
-
assists with transfers to and from bed, chair or equipment; returns residents to rooms upon completion of activity.

Picks up and delivers resident charts, progress notes, memoranda and other paperwork throughout facility.
-
Cleans and cares for transport and other equipment; sets up equipment and furnishings for treatments, meetings and other uses.

Escorts residents to appointments outside the nursing facility in a variety of medical settings. Will schedule appointments for residents and complete required paperwork.

Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have full use of hands, ability to stand for extensive periods, bend, pull, push and lift a minimum of 40 pounds to waist level without restriction.

Basic knowledge of equipment and methods used in transporting individuals with physical limitations.

Ability to learn specific practices, techniques and operations used in transporting physically and/or mentally limited residents.
-
Ability to learn possible hazards to residents during transport and precautionary or remedial measures.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and residents.
-
Ability to support and maneuver residents in transfers and transport.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Education equivalent to completion of the tenth school grade.
-
Six to twelve months experience working with individuals with mental or physical limitations.

Or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.

In the Clinics department, must have and maintain a Pennsylvania nurse aide certification.
