Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Replace or repair shocks & struts, suspension components, tires, brakes, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Assemble new equipment or repair existing machinery by following detailed schematics and technical manuals while adhering to safety standards.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic background with heavy equipment operation.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of working with power tools and hand tools safely.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems on industrial or farm machinery.
- Experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles or equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance or assembly tasks; comfortable performing heavy lifting regularly.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with a focus on safety standards.
