We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated Registered Dental Hygienist who is passionate about preventive dentistry, patient education, and building long-term relationships. Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional preventive and periodontal care, including adult and pediatric prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing (SRP), oral cancer screenings, periodontal charting, caries and periodontal risk assessments, fluoride treatments, sealants, and local anesthesia (where licensed).
- Review and update patients' medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs to support safe, comprehensive care.
- Take high-quality digital radiographs, intraoral photographs, and digital scans or impressions while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Accurately document clinical findings, treatment provided, and recommendations using Open Dental while maintaining complete and compliant patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal health, nutrition, preventive care, home care techniques, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health and improve treatment acceptance.
- Build trusting, long-term relationships with patients by providing compassionate, personalized care and creating a comfortable, positive experience at every visit.
- Assist the dentist during hygiene examinations by identifying clinical findings, communicating treatment needs, and supporting comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain clean, organized operatories and follow all OSHA, CDC, infection control, and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Monitor hygiene supplies and equipment, communicate inventory needs, and help maintain efficient daily clinical operations.
- Collaborate effectively with the dentist, dental assistants, and front office team while contributing to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace.
- Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and practice initiatives to support professional growth and exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Massachusetts Registered Dental Hygienist License.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Local anesthesia certification.
- Proficiency with digital radiography and dental imaging.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, dental terminology, periodontal disease, infection control, and preventive dentistry.
- Experience using dental practice management software (Open Dental experience preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Preferred
- Experience with periodontal therapy and non-surgical periodontal treatment.
- Familiarity with intraoral cameras and digital scanners.
- Experience educating patients and improving treatment acceptance.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
