Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
Location: Great Falls, MT 59405
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week (primarily 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, flexible daytime schedule)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to provide leadership and operational oversight for a hospital pharmacy, infusion center, and hospital outpatient department (HOPD). This position requires a hands-on leader who can balance administrative responsibilities with clinical staffing while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
- Provide leadership and daily operational oversight of pharmacy services.
- Supervise pharmacy staff and promote efficient workflow.
- Participate in both administrative and staffing responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Support sterile compounding operations as needed.
- Prepare the pharmacy department for regulatory and accreditation surveys.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Active Montana Pharmacist license (required).
- Previous Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager, or equivalent pharmacy leadership experience.
- Strong inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Experience serving as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or ability to assume PIC responsibilities.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Experience with sterile compounding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Meditech (training available).
- Experience with Touchpoint automation systems.
- Experience supporting surgical hospitals, emergency departments, outpatient services, or infusion centers.
- Experience preparing for or participating in regulatory surveys.

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
