QC Terme spas are experiential destination day spas that are typically fit-out in historical buildings but can be built from the ground up, in unique locations with beautiful views. The spas feature various forms of hydro therapeutic, thermal, and sense-stimulating pools that encompass about 30-35 experiences per spa.
QC NY are seeking passionate, sincere, Bussers, who are able to deliver fantastic food and beverage experiences for our guests. Our beautiful NY Spa is located on Governors Island only 8 minutes by ferry. We offer free transport via ferry to the Island. We are offering full time, part time flexible schedules.
Job Summary:
The Busser will be accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of the bar, kitchen, and outside seating area. Ensuring that the bistro area is always clean, clearing tables in a timely and efficient manner. The Busser is responsible for performing station opening/closing set up for each shift, restocking and maintaining clean, sanitary service areas. The Busser is able to work as a team member as well as work independently with proper direction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of food areas by collecting dirty dishes, utensils and glasses from tables and outdoor seating areas.
- Stocks and restocks paper products, dishes, and utensils.
- Supports bartender and kitchen staff by delivering/restocking needed items.
- Assist the team with setup, cleanup, and any additional needs to ensure a smooth and successful guest experience.
- Empties trash and takes out to designated area.
- Assist bartender and food service ambassador as needed with food delivery, especially during peak hours.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the bar and kitchen area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment, including coffee and tea machines.
- Ability to execute proper sanitation practices and safety procedures.
- Able to work long hours as sometimes required.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Education and Experience:
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
