Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for overnight shifts to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor vital signs, record health data accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems, and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a warm and engaging environment during overnight hours.
- Conduct safety checks throughout the facility, including fire drills, emergency response readiness, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed diligently.
- Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment; ensure safe manual handling practices at all times.
- Document medical records meticulously, including incident reports, patient service notes, and care plans aligned with medical terminology standards.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospitals—especially in geriatrics or dementia care—is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation; experience with Cerner or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Strong communication skills for caregiving tasks and collaboration with healthcare teams; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and assist residents with mobility needs safely.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS), and catheter care protocols.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to acute care, post-acute settings, hospice care, ICU experience, or emergency medicine enhances your candidacy.
