Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and reliable individual to join our childcare team as an Evening Closer. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and organization of our center during closing hours. The ideal candidate is nurturing, detail-oriented, and confident in managing a group of children during quieter evening hours.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in a calm, structured manner during late hours
- Assist with evening routines such as story time, quiet play, and preparing children for pickup
- Ensure all areas are clean, sanitized, and organized before the end of the shift
- Complete all necessary closing documentation, including attendance logs and parent communication notes
- Secure all doors, set alarms, and follow proper lock-up procedures for the facility
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare setting or aftercare program
- Comfortable managing small groups of children during slower-paced evening hours
- Experience with cleaning and sanitizing toys, surfaces, and common areas in accordance with health regulations
- Ability to follow closing checklists and maintain detailed records of incidents or concerns
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Positive, professional attitude with strong communication skills when interacting with children and families
- Flexible and calm under pressure — able to handle last-minute parent pickups or unexpected changes in routine
- CPR and First Aid certification is recommended (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare staff
We are looking for someone who is committed to excellence, values a clean and safe environment, and brings a warm, dependable presence to our closing team
