American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular OR Surgical Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active WA state license for a 13-week CVOR assignment at an acute care hospital.

Acute care hospital CVOR unit with 4 suites handling 22–45 cases per day across multiple specialties including cardiac, vascular, and thoracic
-
Common case types include standard cardiac surgeries, caths, thoracic cases, and robotic-assisted cardiac and vascular procedures using the Da Vinci XI system
-
CVOR techs may float to the Main OR for applicable cases
-
Shift is 5x8-hour days, 0715–1500, with varied start times; block scheduling is available
-
Weekend coverage is provided through call time; holiday coverage is handled by rotation
-
Call requirement is 8–9 call shifts per month; call hours run 9:00 PM–6:30 AM, with weekend call structured as 12-hour days, 12-hour nights, and 24-hour backup

Call response time is 30 minutes

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Minimum of 2 years of CVOR surgical tech experience

Active Washington State surgical tech license required; pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable)

BLS certification required; active certifications only — pending certifications will not be accepted

National CST certification is not required

Robotics experience (Da Vinci XI) preferred but not required — facility is willing to train

A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

COVID vaccination is required for this position

Scrub in on standard cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and robotic-assisted surgical cases

Cath lab and CVOR are in close proximity; circulating CVOR tech may be on standby when vascular cases go open

A charge nurse is on every shift covering both Main OR and CVOR, with a dedicated resource nurse for the CVOR

Orientation is approximately 1 week

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
