Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, friendly, and welcoming customer service at all times, greeting customers as they arrive
- Must be knowledgeable regarding the product in order to promote and describe the products to customers
- Take orders and package bread in an appealing manner, providing reheating services as requested by customers
- Perform light kitchen work such as assembling and bake panini sandwiches as needed, slicing and storing fresh ingredients properly, arranging bread in display case in an appealing manner, making coffee using a commercial coffeemaker
- Cashiering and handling customer tabs
- Cleaning the front of house area and dishwashing
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Customer Service skills - must be able to maintain a pleasant disposition despite rude customers
- Basic math skills - must be able to perform basic mental math computations quickly
- Basic kitchen skills - must be proficient with the use of a knife, handling food, using a hot oven, and making coffee and mixed drinks
- Teamwork and Adaptability - must be flexible to the tasks assigned and willing to cooperate if tasks include others not in job description
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in food service and/or cashiering strongly preferred
- Prior coffee-making experience preferred but not required
- Be friendly, warm, and pleasant, even if a customer is rude
- Remember a customer's orders and multi-task, working the oven and packaging bread
- Prepare and bake panini sandwiches in an oven
- Prolonged period of standing and walking
- Proactive, team-oriented attitude
- Must clean and wash dishes at end of shift
- Ability to temporarily lift items weighing up to 50lbs
- Prolonged periods of walking.
