We are seeking a highly organized, dependable Medical Assistant to join our growing practice. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and can work independently without constant supervision.
We are a busy specialty practice seeing 20+ patients per day. The right candidate understands that attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and follow-through are critical components of patient care and compliance.
This role is ideal for someone looking for a long-term home in a small private practice where they can take ownership, learn new skills, and become an integral member of the team.
What You Will Do
Clinical Patient Care
● Welcome and room patients, obtain chief complaints, and update medical history.
● Verify medications, allergies, and medical history.
● Obtain and document vital signs.
● Assist the physician during procedures, injections, wart treatments, nail care, P&A procedures, regenerative therapies, and minor surgeries.
● Assist with orthotic casting, diabetic shoe fittings, and dispensing and fitting DME.
● Perform digital X-rays (must have certification or be willing to obtain certification).
● Educate patients on treatment options and at-home care.
Clinical Documentation & Compliance
● Complete and initial patient encounter checklists for every patient visit.
● Help ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to patient checkout.
● Verify documentation accuracy within the DrChrono EHR.
● Maintain compliance with Medicare, HIPAA, OSHA, and office protocols.
DME & Medicare Documentation
● Dispense orthotics, braces, diabetic shoes, and other DME.
● Complete ABNs accurately when required.
● Maintain proper documentation for Medicare and commercial insurance requirements.
● Track outstanding orders and patient follow-up needs.
Care Coordination & Workflow Management
● Process imaging orders, pathology specimens, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
● Communicate clinical flags and outstanding tasks to the provider.
● Monitor workflow throughout the day and ensure tasks are completed.
● Help maintain efficient patient flow.
Front Desk & Team Support
● Cross-train and assist with front desk responsibilities, including:
● Scheduling appointments
● Insurance verification
● Collecting patient payments
● Data entry and maintaining patient records
● Answering phones and assisting patients professionally
● Support patient communication and follow-up.
● Work collaboratively in a small team environment where everyone helps.
Inventory & Exam Room Management
● Prep, clean, and autoclave instruments.
● Stock and organize exam rooms.
● Monitor supplies and report low inventory.
● Assist with office quality and compliance checks.
● Check for expired medications and supplies.
Qualifications
● CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
● Prior experience in podiatry, orthopedics, pain management, dermatology, or another specialty practice preferred.
● Experience with Medicare documentation, ABNs, and DME strongly preferred.
● DrChrono experience is a plus.
● Strong computer and EHR skills.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
● Excellent communication and patient service skills.
● Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

● Monday: 11:30AM – 7:00 PM
● Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
● Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
● Every Other Thursday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
