Job Overview:
We are seeking a Nightly Supervisor to join our team at Freeport Area Church Cooperative. As a Nightly Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the evening operations of our homeless shelter, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all residents, including women, men, and children. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a heart for service.
Duties:
- Cleaning: Ensure the kitchen, dorms, bathroom, and common areas are cleaned and sanitized. This includes your participation and supervision over clients chores.
- Laundry & Bedding Assistance: Help with washing, drying, and distributing clean bedding and linens.
- Dinner Service: Assist in serving dinner to shelter residents, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Inventory Management: Monitor food supplies and other essentials, keeping track of what the shelter is low on and reporting to management for reordering.
- Resident Supervision: Provide supervision and support to residents, ensuring their safety and comfort. This includes managing and resolving any conflicts or concerns.
- Routine Check-ins: Conduct nightly bed checks to ensure all residents are accounted for and safe.
- Documentation: Write detailed nightly supervisor notes, documenting events, issues, or anything pertinent that occurred during your shift.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in a kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to keep client and shelter information confidential.
- Work in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
- Must have transportation to and from FACC for scheduled shifts
- Previous experience working in a shelter, social services, or similar environment is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and being available to residents as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 28.0 per week
