Truck/Paint Technician C will support production requirements on Rail Cars by performing preparation, cleaning and painting truck parts and components to meet customer specifications and timelines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure Kinkisharyo standards of safety and quality are followed on all work performed.
- Ensure to maintain neat and clean work areas.
- Report any shortages, discrepancies, damaged, defective parts/items, or problem in timely manner.
- Ensure the work performed meets quality standards.
- Responsible for not damaging products, parts, vehicle etc.
- Read plans, drawings, apply putty and other materials to car shell in preparation for paint.
- Knowledge and experience operating painting tools and equipment, i.e.: Grit Blast, Airless/HVLP sprayer, sanders, and polishers.
- Follow all work instructions, procedures, and safety policies.
- Look for ways to improve efficiencies in paint processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as defects, materials, and techniques as needed.
- Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Professional demeanor and ability to work in teams.
- Ability to follow directions and instructions from leads, foremen, supervisors, managers, and other members of production team
- Ability to successfully pass background, drug, and physical screenings.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of hand, pneumatic and power tools including, but not limited to: screwdrivers, drills, tapping guns, and riveters.
- Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints and work instructions.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stooping, bending, overhead reaching and standing for long period of time.
- Must be willing and able to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience working with trade tools such as spray guns and media blasting equipment.
- Prefer previous experience in rail car or aircraft assembly plant.
- Safety Oriented
- HS Diploma with Certification and 2+ years’ experience in automotive or manufacturing paint shop.
