Summary/Objective
We are seeking a reliable Janitor to service multiple locations daily. This role requires reporting to a home base location to pick up a company vehicle and traveling to assigned sites
1. Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed.
2. Dust/clean tops of office furniture, cleared desks, and surfaces of tables.
3. Vacuum all carpeting.
4. Spot clean soiled areas on carpets as needed.
5. Clean glass on lobby door.
Non-Carpeted Areas
1. Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed.
2. Dust/clean tops of office furniture, cleared desks, and surfaces of tables.
3. Sweep and mop floors.
Lunchroom/Break Areas
1. Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed.
2. Wipe/clean all table tops and chairs.
3. Wipe/clean vending machines and appliances.
4. Clean sink and counter areas.
5. Sweep and mop floors.
Restrooms
1. Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed.
2. Refill all restroom dispensers as needed.
3. Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals.
4. Spot clean walls, partitions, and doors as needed.
5. Sweep and mop floors with disinfectant.
Periodically
1. Clean overhead vents - Dust blinds - Polish wood furniture.
2. Dust high partitions and ledges - Clean interior partition glass.
3. Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
4. Scrub, wax, and polish floors using industrial scrubbing and buffing machines.
5. Sometimes use ladders, dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, and dust and polish light fixtures.
6. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
7. May sweep walkways, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Miscellaneous
1. Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly.
2. Equipment (such as vacuums) must be properly maintained at all times.
Knowledge and Skills
1. Knowledge of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities very helpful.
2. Must have good listening and verbal communication skills. Some positions require the ability to speak/understand English.
3. Must be able to understand and anticipate the needs of the clients.
4. Must attend periodic training and safety meetings.
5. Must maintain a neat appearance. A uniform is required at some worksites.
6. Must be punctual.
Education and Work Experience
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
2. 6 months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.
