Summary
The Applied Research Scientist II is a non-tenure track researcher who serves as part of a clinical/translational research team under the general direction of an Investigator in one of the Population or Quantitative Science Research Divisions. The Applied Research Scientist II's principle activity is research and related support activities for the faculty investigator, including presentation at scientific meetings and production of scientific manuscripts.The Applied Research Scientist II is expected to operate at a higher level of complexity and independence than an Applied Research Scientist I. The Applied Research Scientist II is expected to take the initiative on first drafts of protocols and manuscripts under supervision of the PI. This position is also expected to have a larger percent of time spent on supervising and training staff within the research lab and a greater degree of independence than the Applied Research Scientist I.

Conduct cutting-edge research in cancer diagnostics, predictive biomarkers, and precision oncology.

Utilize advanced technologies including histology, immunohistochemistry, spatial proteomics, computational pathology, and genomic profiling.

Design and lead research projects, analyze data, publish findings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the cancer center.

Contribute to the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

MD or MD/PhD with formal training in Surgical Pathology.

Completed pathology residency with post-residency research experience.

Strong interest in translational pathology, cancer biomarker research, and emerging pathology technologies.

Demonstrated scientific creativity, collaboration, analytical skills, and publication success.

Work at an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Salary Range
$91,748.80 - $146,806.40
Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
