Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Collections Paralegal to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will support the collection process by managing legal documentation, conducting research, and coordinating communication with clients and firm management. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the collection of overdue accounts through legal channels, including preparing and reviewing legal documents such as demand letters and pleadings.
- Review and organize case files using document management systems like Best Case and Excel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support litigation activities by drafting legal documents, proofreading filings, transcribing depositions or court proceedings, and assisting with procedural law requirements.
- Coordinate with attorneys and clients through interviewing and data collection to facilitate case progression.
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities, court filings, correspondence, and case updates in compliance with legal standards.
Requirements
- Paralegal experience with a strong understanding of collections processes and familiarity with collection practices.
- Proficiency in legal administrative experience including document review, legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis, case management software like Best Case and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong writing skills for drafting correspondence, pleadings, and reports; proofreading for accuracy; transcription skills; and effective communication via phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of procedural law requirements for filings and court procedures across various jurisdictions.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately and handle clerical tasks such as filing and record keeping efficiently.
- Experience supporting project management initiatives within a legal setting is preferred.
- Exceptional research skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $41,211.13 - $61,673.62 per year
