Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a supportive school district in Gaffney, South Carolina to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking a dedicated educator to support students in a self-contained learning environment at the middle school level.
Assignment Details
- Position: Special Education Teacher (LD Self-Contained Classroom)
- Location: Gaffney, SC
- Start Date: August 3, 2026 | End Date: May 28, 2027
- Schedule: Middle School: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Billable Hours: 7.5 hours per day | 37.5 hours a week (up to 40 hours per week)
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support for students in a self-contained learning disabilities classroom. The classroom is supported by a teacher assistant, allowing for a collaborative approach to student success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals while maintaining compliance with special education regulations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
There is also a potential opportunity for a Resource Special Education Teacher position within a middle school setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, administrators, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior supports
Qualifications and Required Certifications
- South Carolina Educator License
- Special Education Certification
- Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
