We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse - Peritoneal Dialysis.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- To work with Administrator and Physician to identify PD candidates.
- To initiate and complete training for peritoneal dialysis patients as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Provide ongoing education to perspective candidates to help ensure they have adequate knowledge of Peritoneal Dialysis.
- To document peritoneal dialysis patients training days and clinic visits.
- To obtain blood samples for laboratory testing.
- To be skillful in determination of blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate and in the proper method of recording these vital signs.
- To be knowledgeable of all procedures requiring aseptic technique, infection control and universal precaution practices and be capable of implementing these techniques precisely.
- To assume responsibility for direct patient care.
- To participate in in-service programs offered by the clinic in order to achieve high levels of proficiency in dialysis through ongoing ESRD related continuing education (at least 12 contact hours each year).
- To participate in monthly QAPI process through data collection, analysis, and implementation of action plans to improve patient outcomes.
- To participate and assist in the completion of patient care plans for each patient to which he/she is assigned.
- To have an understanding of the dialysis options and processes, medications commonly involved in patient care, possible clinical complications, and importance of infection control.
- To work effectively with all staff members, physicians, and patients in order to provide optimal care.
- To incorporate physician orders into patient care.
- Will report directly to the Facility Administrator.
- Maintains and submits, in a timely manner, all required records and reports as directed by the Facility Administrator. This includes Network Reports.
- Responsible for training a secondary RN in Peritoneal Dialysis for back up purposes.
- The primary PD nurse will be responsible for taking after hours and weekend calls unless those calls are assigned to the secondary PD nurse.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Hemodialysis experience preferred.
- Peritoneal dialysis nursing experience required.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current State of Georgia Registered Nurse License.
- Current CPR.
