Starting in August, we have three full time positions for SLPs. Must be CCC or Active Florida licensure, sorry no CFs for this one. The exact schools open have not been determined yet but the sooner you apply and interview, the better your chances of getting exactly the placement you want! Priority placements will likely be in elementary schools where you'll get lots of opportunities to do evaluations, therapy and participate in IEP meetings. The secondary schools (middle or high) typically have more therapy with less evaluations and IEPs needed. If you are new to schools, we have a nice orientation at the beginning of the year.
Our group has worked in Highlands County Schools for well over 30 years - they are doing their best to meet the needs of students and therapists. It's a great group of therapists to work with and a pleasant, affordable place to live. Check it out online - there a very cool international raceway, a UNESCO Dark Sky area, and it's an easy weekend trip to the beaches.
