Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the technical skills necessary to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise, animal handling skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Provide compassionate care for animals in the clinic, including kennel management.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during procedures.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and wellness practices.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian.
- Participate in grooming tasks for pets as needed.
Experience
Candidates should have a background that includes:
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
- Experience in laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
