Position Summary
Servers at SouthShore Country Club play an important role in delivering a polished, enjoyable, and consistent dining experience for every member and guest. This position requires speed, accuracy, professionalism, and a genuinely friendly attitude. Servers are responsible for providing attentive and efficient food and beverage service while anticipating member needs and upholding the club’s standards of excellence.
Core Responsibilities
Service Execution
- Deliver fast, polished, and friendly service in alignment with SouthShore’s service standards.
- Greet members and guests promptly with warmth and professionalism.
- Build positive member relationships that encourage repeat visits and member satisfaction.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using the POS system.
- Confirm special requests, modifications, allergies, and timing with the kitchen or bar as needed.
- Monitor pacing and ticket times to ensure timely food and beverage delivery.
- Present menu items, daily specials, and beverage offerings confidently.
- Offer knowledgeable recommendations and pairing suggestions when appropriate.
- Anticipate member and guest needs by refilling beverages, clearing plates, and replenishing items without being prompted.
- Follow proper tray service, table service, and cocktail service standards at all times.
Member Experience
- Engage members in a professional yet personable manner.
- Remember member preferences and provide a consistent, elevated experience.
- Handle member concerns or complaints with urgency, discretion, and professionalism.
- Communicate service issues to the F&B Manager, Floor Lead, or Club Management when appropriate.
- Maintain SouthShore’s standards for appearance, posture, demeanor, and professionalism.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with servers, bartenders, support staff, golf staff, and kitchen teams to maintain smooth service flow.
- Attend pre-shift meetings and participate in menu tastings or service training as scheduled.
- Stay informed on daily specials, club events, golf outings, member functions, and updated procedures.
- Support team members during peak periods by running food, refilling drinks, clearing tables, and assisting where needed.
- Communicate effectively during shift transitions to ensure continuity of service.
Operational & Side Work Duties
- Complete opening, closing, and side work tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked service stations.
- Ensure all dining, patio, bar, and service areas remain clean and presentable throughout the shift.
- Follow sanitation, food safety, alcohol service, and club cleanliness standards.
- Process checks and payments accurately through the POS system.
- Protect member privacy and uphold confidentiality standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior restaurant, fine dining, resort, golf club, or private club experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
- Familiarity with POS systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktails preferred; willingness to learn required.
- Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol, or meet all applicable Nevada alcohol service requirements.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and club events as scheduled.
