SJ Cards is a community-focused trading card game store dedicated to providing an outstanding experience for players, collectors, and hobby enthusiasts. We specialize in Pokémon and other trading card games, offering retail sales, online sales, and live-stream shopping experiences while fostering a welcoming environment for collectors and players alike.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations, lead a team of 7–8 employees, and help grow both our in-store and online business.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day store operations.
- Lead, schedule, train, and develop a team of 7–8 employees while fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Handle daily cash operations, including register management, cash counting, deposits, and ensuring accurate financial procedures are followed.
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving, pricing, organizing, and maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Monitor inventory needs and proactively reorder products to maintain healthy stock levels and support sales demand.
- Learn and stay up to date on multiple trading card markets, including Pokémon and other major TCGs.
- Develop knowledge of card values, market trends, grading, pricing strategies, and other key aspects of the trading card industry.
- Assist with evaluating, pricing, and managing collectible card inventory to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Stay informed on product releases, market changes, and customer demand to make informed purchasing and merchandising decisions.
- Manage SJ Cards' eBay Live streaming operation, with a focus on Pokémon card sales.
- Develop and implement creative ideas for eBay Live broadcasts, including stream formats, promotions, themed events, and selling strategies designed to increase viewer engagement and sales.
- Continually evaluate stream performance and recommend improvements to content, presentation, and overall customer experience.
- Ensure eBay Live streams are properly prepared, technically functional, and running smoothly before and during broadcasts.
- Coordinate inventory for live streams, ensuring featured products are accurately listed, organized, and available for sale.
- Work with staff to prepare products for live auctions and maintain an efficient workflow throughout each stream.
- Monitor live stream performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, viewer engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate in-store events, promotions, and organized play activities.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet business goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately and company policies are followed.
- Work scheduled sales floor shifts as needed to support daily store operations, customer service, staffing coverage, and overall business needs.
Qualifications
- Previous retail management or leadership experience required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Experience managing inventory and retail operations.
- Comfortable learning and managing e-commerce and live-selling platforms.
- Willingness and ability to learn the trading card market, including pricing, trends, and collectible valuation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
