Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver to join our team in the food service industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products to our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety practices, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to navigate efficiently within the delivery area.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport food products to various locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with scheduled routes.
- Maintain the integrity of food safety standards during transportation, including proper handling and storage of food items.
- Fill in on the food line as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring that all items are secured properly.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and customers regarding delivery details and any potential issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns related to deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, food service, or the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to handle kitchen tools safely, including knives for any necessary meal preparation prior to delivery.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Must be able to lift heavy items as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if necessary.
