We are seeking a talented Pool Service Maintenance Technician who is dependable, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently outdoors, solving problems, maintaining high safety standards, and building lasting relationships with customers while ensuring every pool is clean, balanced, and operating at peak performance.
Position Summary
The Pool Service Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining residential and commercial swimming pools to ensure they are clean, safe, balanced, and operating efficiently. This position performs routine maintenance, water chemistry testing, equipment inspections, minor repairs, and provides exceptional customer service while representing the company professionally.
Responsibilities:
Pool Maintenance
- Perform scheduled weekly pool maintenance for assigned route.
- Skim pool surfaces, vacuum pools, and brush walls, steps, and tile.
- Empty skimmer baskets, pump baskets, and cleaner bags.
- Clean filters as scheduled (cartridge, DE, and sand filters).
- Remove debris from pools and surrounding equipment areas.
Water Chemistry
- Test water chemistry using approved testing methods.
- Adjust chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and other chemical levels.
- Add appropriate chemicals to maintain water quality within company standards.
- Identify water quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
Equipment Inspection & Maintenance
- Inspect pumps, motors, filters, heaters, chlorinators, automation systems, and plumbing.
- Identify leaks, worn components, or equipment failures.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Report major repair needs to management.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and property managers.
- Explain service findings and maintenance recommendations.
- Answer customer questions regarding pool care and equipment.
- Maintain positive customer relationships.
Documentation
- Complete service reports after every visit.
- Record:
- Chemical readings
- Chemicals added
- Equipment condition
- Photos (when required)
- Customer notes
- Report safety concerns immediately.
Safety
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Safely transport and handle pool chemicals.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Reliable Transportation
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong customer service skills
Preferred
- Previous pool service experience
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification
- Knowledge of pool automation systems
- Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting experience

WORK SCHEDULE
- Part-time position or full time position (flexible)
COMPENSATION
- $15-25/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
- Growth potential within a dynamic and expanding company with possible migration into a full-time position.
