IT Network Admin

Overview
The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the organization's network infrastructure, and firewall environments. This role provides day-to-day operational support, troubleshoots network issues, maintains network performance and security, and ensures reliable connectivity for business operations.
Responsibilities
· Install, configure, maintain, and support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and VoIP systems.
· Monitor network performance, availability, and security to ensure reliable operation.
· Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, software, and communication issues.
· Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and DMZ environments.
· Assist with network equipment installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
· Maintain firewall configurations and support network security initiatives.
· Perform routine network monitoring, capacity analysis, and performance optimization.
· Create and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures.
· Support backup connectivity and disaster recovery processes for network systems.
· Open, track, and resolve incidents using established ticketing systems.
· Work with vendors and support personnel to resolve technical issues.
· Assist with network cabling, connectivity testing, and infrastructure support.
· Monitor network hardware and software to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
· Provide technical support to end users and other IT team members.
· Follow established IT policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
· Experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and firewalls.
· Experience supporting network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, OSPF, and VPN technologies.
· Experience with network monitoring and documentation tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and Visio.
· Palo Alto firewall experience preferred.
· Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts, network security principles, and troubleshooting methodologies.
· Knowledge of structured cabling technologies, including copper and fiber-optic cabling.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Relevant certifications such as CCNA preferred.
