At a Glance
Pay: $19 – $27/hr starting, based on experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment: Full-time, year-round (40 hrs/week)
Location: Eugene and Springfield, OR (travel between sites)
On-Call: Rotating after-hours on-call approx. every 4–6 weeks (paid at 1.5x)
Mileage: Reimbursed at $0.65/mile (truck or SUV highly preferred)
What You’ll Do
- Perform repairs and maintenance: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Inspect buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of building systems
- Support unit turns, property improvements, and seasonal upkeep
- Keep work areas, shops, and storage spaces clean and organized
- Coordinate with supervisors, vendors, and contractors as needed
- Respond to occasional after-hours emergency calls (rotating schedule, paid at 1.5x)
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Previous experience in residential, commercial, or facilities maintenance
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (truck or SUV preferred)
- Must own basic hand tools
You’ll Stand Out If You Have Experience In:
- *Construction or dry rot repair*
- Appliance repair
- Light plumbing and electrical work
- Tiling, concrete, roofing, or flooring
- Deck and fence building or repair
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role. You should be comfortable with the following on a regular basis:
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the workday
- Lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs; heavier items moved with assistance or equipment
- Climbing ladders and working at elevated heights following safety procedures
- Working in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics, mechanical rooms)
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Using required PPE and following all safety policies
