Summary of Position: The Private Guitar Instructor will provide private lessons for 6th through 12th grade students on-campus after school. Lessons will be offered from 3:30-6:30pm up to 2 days per week.
Essential Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Teach private guitar lessons (length tailored to student experience, but are generally 30 minutes) to students in 6th-12th grade.
- Build strong technique and music literacy skills to students of various levels.
- Tailor lessons to meet the needs of students with different goals and developmental levels.
- Guide students through building strong practice habits
- Foster a supportive and positive learning environment.
- Communicate with students and parents concerning progress, attendance, and schedule changes when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Director of Auxiliary Programs & Parent Engagement to confirm student enrollment and attendance.
- Communicate clearly to meet the demands of the job.
- Facilitate preparing students for music program recitals

Experience & Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in music education or performance required
- A knowledge of guitar pedagogy and repertoire for a variety of genres
