As a Bobtail Driver P & D Driver, you will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, follow electronic GPS directions accurately, and safely make deliveries or pickups, providing professional and courteous service to customers and the public, along with adherence to federal and state hours of service regulations.
Drivers will demonstrate strong operational skills, comply with company policies and safety regulations, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You will also assist with dock work as needed, including loading and unloading freight. Managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines are crucial for success in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the equipment.
· Notify supervisors or mechanics of any needed repairs or failures with equipment.
· Check all fluids, lights, trailer connection, load securement before departing on the route.
· Ensure security of equipment and cargo.
· Safely make deliveries or pickups using all tools available, including pallet jacks and liftgates.
· Provide professional and courteous service to customers and the public.
· Comply with federal and state hours of service (HOS) regulations.
· Follow electronic GPS directions accurately.
· Use in-cab technology, including electronic logs and other items.
· Adapt to unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
· Work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
· Assist with dock work, including loading/unloading freight as needed.
· Checking that freight is secured and assisting with securing freight when needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Lift and/or move a minimum of 99 lbs.
· Push/pull pallets and freight with weights up to 1100 lbs.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
· The employee is frequently required to lift, twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
· Sit stationary/in driving position for a minimum of 1.5 hours.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
