Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to infants and toddlers, incorporating best practices in early childhood education, literacy, and physical development.
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive social interactions among children.
- Utilize effective behavior management and classroom management techniques to promote a respectful and organized learning space.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop individualized plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR certification.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, preschool teaching strategies, and standardized testing where applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting, with a focus on infants and toddlers.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience developing curriculum that promotes literacy education, physical activity (including experience teaching physical education), and overall childhood welfare.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and HighScope curriculum is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws is required.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate math concepts, childhood development milestones, and standardized testing when appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
