Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in cooking and plating dishes efficiently during service hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of all menu items
- Help with meal assembly and portioning to ensure consistency across all dishes served
- Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as stocking supplies, cleaning utensils, and maintaining equipment
- Collaborate with team members to uphold a positive, energetic work environment focused on delivering excellent service
Requirements
- Enthusiastic attitude with a strong desire to learn culinary skills and kitchen operations
- Basic understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, or food industry roles is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is advantageous for understanding special dietary needs
- Knowledge of menu planning, cooking techniques, knife skills, and meal preparation is beneficial but training will be provided
- Weekend availability a must as is at least three shift of availability a week needed.
